The following magistrates were reconfirmed: Vitali Mironov – judge at the Singerei Court; Oleg Moraru – judge at the Glodeni Court; Vladimir Rusnac – judge at the Cimislia Court; Petru Vacula – judge at the Leova Court. At the same time, Marina Curtis was also reconfirmed in the position of judge at the Taraclia Court, till her mandate expires.
Nicolae Timofti and the magistrates exchanged opinions on the court’s subsequent activity and need to continue public debates on the reform of the supreme law, in order to adapt it to the new political, social and economic conditions.
Timofti spoke about the need to foster the capacities specific to the security bodies, in order to prevent and combat risk factors and threats brought to the national security.
President Nicolae Timofti today participated in an international conference titled “The role of constitutional justice in protection of state of law values,” held at the Chisinau-based Palace of the Republic.
President Nicolae Timofti today signed decrees on appointment of two magistrates, at a proposal by the Superior Council of Magistracy. According to the presidency's press service, Aurelia Plesca was appointed judge at the Bender Court (till reaching the age limit) and Serghei Popovici as head of the Comrat Court (for a four-year term).
"USA wants Moldova to have the right to choose its future without constraints. A democratic government, elected at free polls, free market economy and press represent the guarantee of peace, progress and stability,” said William Henry Moser.
