Timofti spoke out for continuing the process of professionalization of the army, in order to turn it into a modern institution of a state with European aspirations.
Most Right Reverend Vladimir gave assurances that the activity of the clergy would further take place in the spirit of the Christian morals of conciliation and harmony.
The distinction was given „as a token of deep gratitude for the significant contribution to the process of Moldova’s integration into the European bodies and for special merits in developing and consolidating the friendship and cooperation ties between our states”.
Timofti voiced confidence that the signing and implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union would contribute to consolidating Moldova’s independence, thus ensuring its citizens with a European future.
Timofti said that Moldova was grateful to the Belarusian authorities for their position to maintain and boost up the bilateral trade exchanges, in situation when Moldova was forced to significantly reduce its exports to Russia.
Subsequently, Timofti participated in events dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of Moldova’s Independence, among which folk parade, held on the Great National Assembly Square.
