A draft law in this respect was approved by the government today, by the decision no. 487 from 28 June 2014, forwarded to Timofti.
Gerard Guillonneau welcomed the signing of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union in Brussels today. The official was confident that the Moldovans would use this historic opportunity to join the family of European nations.
„For us, the rapprochement to the European Union means more jobs, higher salaries and pensions, as well as the guarantee of observance of human rights and freedoms”.
Timofti praised the technical and financial assistance provided by Germany within the programmes of consolidation of Moldovan democratic institutions, as well as the German investors’ contribution to develop the national economy. Timofti was confident that the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union would boost up the bilateral cooperation in all sectors.
„Our next ambitious, yet achievable goal is that Moldova gets a clear prospect to join the European Union. This is an objective that will motivate and engage us more in concrete actions, in order to implement local reforms,” Timofti said.
On 24 June, Nicolae Timofti also signed a decree on reconfirming Sergiu Godorogea as judge at the Riscani court.
