President Maia Sandu met today with Luminița Odobescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, who is in Chisinau for the Trilateral Meeting Republic of Moldova - Romania - Ukraine. During the meeting, the Head of State thanked the authorities in Bucharest for their constant support offered to our country, Romania being one of the most important donors to the Republic of Moldova. Romania is actively contributing to the implementation of the “European Village” programme, especially through the rehabilitation, expansion, and modernization of water and sewage systems in our villages.
With Romania's support, we are also developing our educational infrastructure, including through the purchase of school buses and the renovation of student dormitories. This year, Romania will support the renovation of the Cahul State University dormitory. The President expressed her gratitude for Romania’s constant support given to Chisinau in the process of accession to the European Union, as well as for the assistance provided to Ukraine.
President Maia Sandu also emphasized that the Republic of Moldova will continue to make progress on its European path and that the government will make every effort to carry through the initiated reforms. She also discussed bilateral projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, health and education.
