President Nicolae Timofti today received the accreditation letters of four ambassadors at the state residence.
These are: Bucharest-based Austrian Ambassador Gerhard Reiweger, Bucharest-based Spanish Ambassador Ramiro Fernandez Bachiller, Bucharest-based Danish Ambassador Karsten Vagn Nielsen, and Kiev-based Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Beheshti Monfared.

The president thanked the Vienna-based authorities for including Moldova on the list of states that would receive Austrian assistance. Projects on infrastructure modernisation and social protection will be funded through the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in 2014. President Nicolae Timofti appreciated the Austrian Hilfswerk and Concordia charitable organisations' activity in Moldova.
Austrian Ambassador Gerhard Reiweger reaffirmed his country's support for Moldova's European path. The diplomat informed the president about the Austrian business people's interests in developing investment projects in Moldova.
Ambassador Gerhard Reiweger expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of Austrian President Heinz Fischer, in Chisinau on 16-17 November, would help boost the Moldovan-Austrian relations.
During the meeting with Spanish Ambassador Ramiro Fernandez Bachiller, President Nicolae Timofti advocated enhancing bilateral trade relations and welcomed the presence of Spanish companies in Moldova, especially from the field of electricity. (video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGZFgi4_sgQ)
Nicolae Timofti said that a priority of the Moldovan authorities was to create the necessary legislative framework to protect the investments of foreign business people.
For his part, Spanish Ambassador Ramiro Fernandez Bachiller said his country fully supported Moldova's integration into the European family. The diplomat announced the Madrid-based authorities' willingness to provide the necessary expertise to accelerate Moldova's process of rallying to European Union standards.
Mr. Ramiro Fernandez Bachiller said that Spain wanted to have a notable presence in the social and cultural life of Moldova. The ambassador informed the president about initiating negotiations to open a social football school in Chisinau with the support of the Real Madrid Foundation.
During his meeting with Danish Ambassador Karsten Vagn Nielsen, President Nicolae Timofti expressed satisfaction with the current level of the bilateral relations, noting both support for Moldova's European course as well as the development assistance provided by the authorities in Copenhagen. The Danish diplomat informed the president that the Danish parliament would ratify the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union on 18 December.
During his meeting with Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Beheshti Monfared, President Nicole Timofti advocated enhancing bilateral trade relations to the benefit of both countries.
