The head of state discussed, on Wednesday, with residents of the villages Mărculești and Izvoare, Florești district, about community development. “In the village Mărcurești, Florești, the people are confident about our country's European future and our power to modernize Moldova. A village fully equipped with gas, with water access for all residents, where all the streets are illuminated and with a system for waste collection - it shows what happens when people are hardworking, involved, and care about community development”, said President Maia Sandu.
The head of state said that the government provides support programs, mentioning the “European Village” program, through which the roof of the kindergarten was restored last year. “But the results and positive change for the better in a village are achieved through cooperation between the residents, local authorities, and central authorities” highlighted President Maia Sandu.
Also, the head of state remarked that every village has its riches, and the people from the commune of Izvoare, Florești, are proud of the clear water from famous springs in the area and notable people born there, like Irina Rimes.
“Our goal is to improve living conditions in villages, and the “European Village” project follows the same goal. In the commune of Izvoare, over five million lei have been allocated for the renovation of the high school,” said President Maia Sandu.
