The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today with the Prime Minister of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă. The officials discussed the situation in our energy sector, following the cut-off of electricity supply from Ukraine and the reduction of Gazprom gas supply by 50%.
The Head of State thanked the Romanian Government for its prompt reaction to recent requests for electricity supply and expressed hope that Romania will be able to supply larger quantities to cover the growing deficit.
Officials also discussed ongoing projects, including those in the field of infrastructure, which should bring the two countries closer and contribute to the economic growth.
