The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today with H.E. Margret Maria Uebber, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany.
At the start of the meeting, the Head of State congratulated the German diplomat on the occasion of the German Unity Day, marked yesterday, October 3. President Maia Sandu noted that Germany is one of our country's most important trading partners and one of its biggest investors. The Head of State also thanked the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) for the regional infrastructure projects carried out across the country.
The interlocutors also spoke about the current situation in Moldova in the context of the war in Ukraine. President Maia Sandu underlined that the biggest problem today is the energy crisis and its impact on the our economy and our citizens. In this context, the Head of State expressed her hope that Moldova Support Platform, launched by Germany together with France and Romania, will help increase our country's resilience.
