The Head of State took part in the opening ceremony of the National University Championships-2018, which will be held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Moldova. Sporting events will be organized throughout the country. The organizers are the Federation of University Sports of the Republic of Moldova, and the competitions are timed to the year of St. Stephen the Great.
In honor of the great Moldovan ruler national university championships in various sports, scientific conferences, seminars, round tables will be organized, events will be held to popularize the important role of physical culture in maintaining health. Igor Dodon signed a decree on awarding a group of sportsmen and well-known personalities who contributed to the development of physical culture and sport, for the successes achieved during the nationwide and international competitions, as well as for the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
“A healthy lifestyle should become a priority for the Republic of Moldova. I am ready to support and encourage mass sports so that the citizens of our country can develop their intellectual, spiritual and physical skills and abilities," he stressed.
Recall, in the autumn of last year, the presidential national program for the rehabilitation of sports infrastructure was promulgated, which provides for the construction of almost 300 sports complexes in the settlements of the Republic of Moldova, mainly in rural areas.
