President of the Republic of Moldova Nicolae Timofti congratulated today, 21 October current year, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Iurie Leanca on the occasion of his birthday.
“Chess unites people and develops their intelligence and imagination. I will support all efforts of schools to popularise this game of mind. I am proud when our chess players achieve outstanding results in international tournaments”, said the President.
President Nicolae Timofti stressed the importance to find out and give media coverage to the historical truth about the Jewish nation’s tragedy during the latest world conflagration. “We have the moral duty to cast light on the tragic events of that time in order to prevent such inhuman acts in the future” Timofti said.
Nicolae Timofti stressed that the Republic of Moldova has committed to the European integration and its modernisation was possible by carrying out extensive reforms, which would ensure the wellbeing of its citizens.
“We are open to rigorously observe the European standards of production and quality, in the idea to firmly advance on the path of agricultural and regional development in the Republic of Moldova”, Nicolae Timofti said.
Head of State gave a speech before professors and students attending the event, which highlighted the role played by the graduates of the Agrarian University in the process of country’s modernization.
The sides discussed common economic, social and cultural projects between Romania and Moldova, which would contribute to the rapprochement between people from both sides of the Prut River.
